Students of the Faculty of Law from Mostar visited the Cantonal Court in Livno
On
16th May 2025, the Cantonal Court in Livno hosted a group of 15 students
from the Faculty of Law of the University of
Mostar, led by their professors, with which this court has an agreement on
mutual cooperation. The aim of the organized visit was to inform the students
of the jurisdiction, organization and work of judicial institutions in Livno.
At
the beginning of the visit, the students were welcomed by the President of the
Cantonal Court in Livno, Mr. Jurica Babić. The students were also welcomed by
the President of the Municipal Court in Livno, Mr. Niko Cvitanović.
After
the welcome, a mock trial was organized in the courtroom of the Cantonal Court
in Livno. The mock trial was led by the judge of Municipal Court in Livno, Ms.
Martina Baković, while the prosecution was represented by the cantonal
prosecutor, Mr. Danko Rimac. The accused for this occasion was played by the
President of the Cantonal Court in Livno, Mr. Jurica Babić. The mock trial was
based on a real trial that took place two years ago.
After
the mock trial, the President of the Cantonal Court in Livno, Mr. Jurica Babić,
and the judge of the Municipal Court in Livno, Ms. Martina Baković, gave a
lecture to the students on the topic of femicide, the Istanbul Convention and
domestic violence, while the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of
Canton 10 Livno, Mr. Danko Rimac, spoke about peer violence in the digital environment.
The
professors and students expressed their gratitude for the high-quality organization
of the visit and the useful information they received on this occasion.
